Little Haven

This project was a blast!! From conception to completion, Designs by Davis enjoyed creating a little haven for this special couple who needed more room. What started as a small addition during conception, turned into a spacious wing upon completion with its own convenient laundry area, bathroom, walk-in closet, and cozy bedroom.

First stop is the laundry room and walk-in closet. Located just steps from the walk-in closet, the laundry room streamlines the dreaded dirty chore! It is the perfect size-just enough room to get the job done without the clutter collecting space that always invites the ‘I’ll put it away later’ items.

The walk-in closet is bright, small, and sweet which again discourages clutter, an obvious customer requirement.

Next up, the bath. Earthy tones of the custom tiled shower work well with the crisp, clean, white vanity and linen closet. The three small windows not only provide a modern look, but also allows the perfect amount of natural light to brighten the room. Tying the bright whites with the off whites, the concrete countertop and sink bowl add to the modern style.

Finally, the master bedroom with its wooden floor, bright white walls, trim, and barn door is simple, yet stylish. The highlight is the almost flashy fandelier which adds just a touch of sparkle. This sparkle paired with the colorful handmade quilt give the room a warm and comfortable ambience. All together this design makes the perfect little retreat.

Designs by Davis enjoyed each stage of this project. Making a plan and working toward its fruition is what we do best! Consider us for your next home project!

Workspaces!

According to the trendy renovation PROREMODELER magazine, people want space! Is this due to Covid isolation? Maybe! One thing is for sure, people who want an updated kitchen want real estate! There are many reasons for this demand, from ‘work at home’ needs and homeschool spaces, to an increase in family gatherings. Traditionally, kitchens have always been an important place in the home, and today’s trends seems to echo this. Thus, it only makes sense to consider a large island or peninsula to create a multitask workspace when considering a renovation project.

Designs by Davis loves to create and install such concrete workspaces. And it is true, the bigger the better! Not only does it make the kitchen feel more welcoming, but it also allows the ‘cook’ to be part of the family gatherings. It is a cozy area for people to share a cup of coffee and solve all the world’s problems (I wish!). Check out some of our projects. If you like what you see, shoot us a message…We would love to help you create a workspace to accommodate your needs!

New Sun Room

One never knows what to expect with a remodel. At first this looked like a straight forward project. However, once the guys started to remove the broken concrete pad, they ran into structural problems and had to replace the existing beams and foundation. Once disaster was diverted, the room came together nicely.

The shiplap walls and water proof vinyl flooring where chosen because of the temperature fluctuations associated with a sun room. Since part of the room is under the existing deck, the guys used Rain Tight Under Decking to keep the rain outside. The Rain Tight product was fairly easy to work with and the customer loved how it matched the shiplap.

Busy, Busy, Busy…

Here is the latest Designs by Davis remodel. The customer felt a little claustrophobic in their home sweet home and were convinced the only solution to make it more spacious was to add on. Yet with current lumber prices, that was not an ideal solution. After proposing a few different designs, the customer loved the idea of knocking out the wall between the kitchen and living room, giving the house an open atmosphere. The concrete countertop peninsula created an airy feeling, while providing a nice division between the two rooms. As a bonus…Tim was not only able to work with the existing cabinets to keep the remodel within budget, but also was able to transform the built-in china buffet into a popular coffee station. Here are some before and after pictures.

Did Someone Say Pergola?

This project was the perfect backyard addition. Not only is it decorative, but it adds a surprising amount of shade to a rather sweltering area.

Cable Railing is ‘In’

Cable railing is in high demand! This family really wanted an unobstructed view so they could enjoy the lake’s beautiful sunrises. This handrail not only meet their requirements, but also added the perfect touch to this lake front deck.

New Bathroom Look

Andrew and Tim just installed this piece. The rough edge works well with the rustic bathroom décor.
